Lent 3

I have a friend who shared a story on facebook, and now I'm noticing letters all over the house.
The story was about a little girl who is found repeating the alphabet but the way she is saying it sounds like prayer,
And the person, maybe her mum or somebody else in the house, asks why she's praying the alphabet.
Then the girl explains that she doesn't know what to pray, so she has decided to pray the alphabet and let God work out the words.

Which sounds like a genius plan to me this Lent, and a little bit like Romans 8:26. And now I'm noticing letters all over the house, and the words that they get formed into, somehow, magically, wondrously!

I like this thought - I shall continue checking out the random words and letters around my home, and see if they lead me to prayer...

Oh, I want to "love" this post. What a darling idea -- to give God the letters and let him work out our prayers! I felt that way last night, when I woke in the night and wanted to pray for the people in Mariupol. What can I plead, except, "God, help them!" It's frightful. It's been years since I've prayed kind of all day long, more on than off, for something -- as I'm praying for Ukraine.
Many blessings, and much love, Mags.

Out of the mouth of babes.... There are so many times when I don't know what to say...

That's a very sweet story. But - sigh.

This reminds me of the scripture about the Holy Spirit praying for us with words that cannot be uttered.

When Mom wakes in the night, she'll pray for military by saying any name that comes into her mind as she prays the alphabet. I'll do the same but with people I know...until I fall asleep.

Time stands still

Hello! Sending you all lots of love from Northern Ireland, where nothing much changes just as everything changes, as usual. Time has stood ...
