Taking the hump

I know it's not Wednesday anymore- it's very nearly not even Thursday anymore in this Frozen North time zone! We are, however, mostly all advocates of Wednesday Hump Day in this house. 75% of us breathe a great big sigh of relief as we come back down the other side of the week towards the weekend. Not Jo. He has the not beloved violin class on Thursday, so he doesn't breathe his sigh of relief until end of play today!
In a great display of maternal support for my younger sun, I took myself off to our craft group last night, my own sigh of relief well in place. We had a special decoupage session led by one of our members who is a passionate advocate for all things napkin covered. Jo would have loved it: a beautiful brush, a pot of glue and lots of ripping and sticking. And tea. Shame about that old violin practice...
I did include it in my medley of family life. Lots of noise, two superheroes, an airplane for my aeronautical engineer, and berries. Our home on a Wednesday, and any other day of the week. Weekend, here we come!

Well done! That's fun!
Aw, the music lesson battle. Argh. We have it here on Tuesday nights. Birdie and Bug have to go and their parents have to go with them, so Millie Rose stays with us. We have popcorn and watch her choices on the Disney Channel. After we've had dinner together the big sisters start to get sad that they have to leave and go to lessons, but they'll be happy when they are musical smarties.

looks like your crafting class was fun. Aren't music lessons supposed to be fun too? I hope he starts to enjoy his lessons more and look forward to them.

Wow, that is beautiful!
The instrument practice battle- sigh! We have parents who come to us a few weeks after signing their child up for lessons saying, "Oh x never does any practice so we want her to give up!"- obviously, they need parental support but a lot of our parents think the child will do it without any nudge or encouragement then they want to get out of the contract (it's a year contract because we have to employment the music service on a yearly basis!) x

Wish I had stuck with an instrument. I was thinking maybe an accordion would be fun! Very nice artwork! I get to work this weekend, but I hope you all enjoy yours! (I'll try to be positive about mine and enjoy the people I'm with.) God bless all you superheroes, musicians and artists!

Lovely craft work. I wish I had a group nearby to go to - Maybe I should be brave & try to start one! (Too much like hard work!) I really like what you have done though.
Commiserations with the violin practice/lessons. I never practised my french horn (& then couldn't work out why I didn't improve. I wasn't the brightest spark in the box!)

I like hump day! It is a good day in my week for several reasons. How is it though that it takes much longer to come than the end of the weekend does! xx

Ahh -- I'm reading this Sunday evening as the weekend is nearly over, and certainly over for you. I hope it was good and thoroughly relaxing. I know how you feel about the approach of yet another wearying week of school and doing :) Take heart!

Love your crafty day and the results are pretty too!

I remember piano lessons with our kids. That was a "hump day" to be sure.

Time stands still

Hello! Sending you all lots of love from Northern Ireland, where nothing much changes just as everything changes, as usual. Time has stood ...
